Healthy Snack Recipe: Crispy Kale Chips

I finally decided to try the kale chips that I’ve been seeing all over the internet for a while now. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. They aren’t just a snack that you eat because you should- they are a snack you eat because you want to. They actually get crispy (not chewy), and seriously, they melt in your mouth. I never thought I’d say that about kale, but it’s true.
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 Tbsp. olive oi
- 1/2- 1 tsp sea salt
- Optional: other spices, such as cayenne pepper & chili powder
Step 1: Cut
Tear leaves from stalk. If you get any really big leaves, just tear them into smaller pieces.

It helps to have a cute assistant in a way-too-bright onesie.

Step 2: Coat
Coat the kale with 1 Tbsp. olive oil and sea salt to taste. I used about 1 tsp. salt, and I could’ve gone lighter. I made a small batch with cayenne and chili powder too, and I’m definitely going to do more like that next time.

Step 3: Cook
Spread the kale in a single layer on 2 cookie sheets. Bake in the oven at 250 degrees for approx. 35 minutes. They will come out nice and crispy!

The spicy chips: definitely doing a whole batch like this next time.

Give them a go! You might be surprised at how un-bitter-kale-like they taste.
