Smoothie of the Week: Peachy Cream

healthy peach cream smoothie

I missed last week’s smoothie of the week…I’m not sure what I was doing, but apparently I was too busy to post my newest smoothie creation. Well, here it is! I felt like something slightly sweet, very juicy, and deliciously creamy (not to mention healthy, right?). This peachy cream smoothie was just the ticket!

crushed ice

Step 1:

I made 2 smoothies, because Tim was home the morning I made them, but I’ll list the ingredients needed for 1 smoothie. Put 1 cup of ice in the blender. This ice was nice and crushed, because it was left over bagged ice from making my coconut ice cream !

Step 2:

Slice up 1 big, very ripe, and juicy fresh peach! You could even put in two if you wanted it to be super peachy.

Step 3:

Put the peach slices in the blender with the ice. (Remember, these pictures show what made 2 big smoothies)

Mmm, you can see in the picture above that the peaches were really ripe (by looking at the brown spots). Those brown spots might not be so nice to bite into, but they add perfect sweetness to a smoothie.

Step 4:

Add just enough almond milk to allow your mixture to blend. I actually added too much, so the resulting smoothie was a little too thin and not entirely peachy enough (but still good). Start with as little almond milk as possible to get it blending, then add more as desired.

Step 5:

Blend it all up!

The Smoothie

Now go enjoy your delicious and creamy peach smoothie. If you’re against any sort of solid anything in your drinks, you could strain this or peel the peaches before you blend everything. I wouldn’t recommend it though! The deep color of those skins evidence much nutritional goodness!

oh man this looks so yummy. I was inspired by you and your website so I made a yummy smoothie this morning with orange juice, frozen strawberries, frozen mangos and half of a banana. I want to try this one!

Great recipe, Margaret, and great piccies. I’ve never made a smoothie in my life but am inspired to do so now. Perhaps my four-year old twin grandchildren might like to help. Thanks for this.
