Cute little Evan was born to proud and happy parents Dan and Aimee on Friday, August 1st! He just barely made it onto our list of the fifty gajillion people who have their birthdays in August (including me, Tim, my father-in-law, and both of my brothers). Here are the stats: Time: 10:26am, Weight: 6lbs. 9 oz., Length: 21 inches, Hair Color: Reddish brown, taking after his mama!

I’m pretty sure Dan already enjoys showing off his son. Newborns always look so tiny, but let me tell you: he looked super duper tiny when Dan was holding him!

I didn’t get any pictures of Mama Aimee holding him, but don’t you worry. When I take them dinner on Tuesday, you bet I’m gonna bring my camera along and take as many pictures as I can before they kick me out! (I had no ulterior motives in signing up to bring them dinner…really…none at all…)

Because I was stranded at home without a car, I had to wait a WHOLE day to meet this little guy and check up on his parents. I don’t know what it is that’s so addicting about holding little babies, but there’s definitely something. My mom hypothesizes that holding babies produces endorphins, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was true. They’re just so irresistible!

Tim, Dan, and Evan celebrated the occasion with some See’s chocolate cigars. I’m pretty sure Tim had the wrong end in his mouth (is that possible with chocolate cigars?), so I’m glad they weren’t real. We’re so excited that baby Evan is here! …hmmm, how do you think Dan and Aimee would feel if I asked to come over and sleep on their couch for the next week or two?
